The Nimmanahaeminda Road area in Chiang Mai is home to a bustling international scene with digital nomads and high-so Asian ex-pats intermingling with CMU students and OG Thais. It’s also one of the best places to explore the city’s new cannabis scene.
We took a tour of all the current dispensaries in the neighborhood so that you can enjoy a good smoke without worrying about the quality of the weed you’re buying.
This is what we learned.
Apollo 420 Shop (Don’t Miss Their Special Offer)

Everybody in this industry is friendly but the guys in the Apollo 420 Shop (all Thai-owned and managed) are super friendly.

In fact, they like you enough to give you some free weed! If you mention this magazine article in Entourage – they’ll give you a free bong hit on your first visit.
“Think of it like a welcome drink,” they said. Well, we did and it was great.
It’s a small store but always busy which is a sign of good things too, there’s a genuine love for all things local here and we highly recommend this as your first stop in Nimman.
Impala64

We were very impressed with the knowledge of the staff in this newly opened store. They really know their weed. It’s also owned and managed by a Thai woman.
Impala 64 is also directly behind Apollo 420 which makes it easy to visit on the same trip.
And as to the weed? It’s top quality and reasonably priced. They also had a great range of smoking materials and paraphernalia to choose from, which is always handy. There’s still something awkward about buying Rizlas in 7-11 (assuming they have them in 7-11 at all).

There’s a comfortable chill-out space to enjoy the product in and if you’re nice, they might let you pick some of the tunes that they play there too.
Our only minor issue here is that it’s not the easiest place to find in Nimman but once you have found it, you’ll be glad that you took the effort to do so.
RabBuds

Opening Hours: 12 PM – 9 PM (Seven days a week but holiday opening hours may vary)
Address: 1, 12 Nimmanahaeminda Road, Tambon Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand

RabBuds is already a big name with those in the know for Nimman’s nascent marijuana scene. It’s proof that you don’t need to spend a fortune on interior décor, it’s all about the quality of the bud you sell.
They’ve opted for a simple but boutique interior feel which is comfortable to do a little waiting in but isn’t somewhere you would stay all day, either.
The staff is friendly and well informed, and they have a solid range of both local and US products that should satisfy even the most discerning of consumers.
RabBuds is also an active player in developing the Thai cannabis scene in general.
The Dispensary

Opening Hours: 11 AM – 11 PM (Seven days a week but holiday opening hours may vary)

We know, people love to hate the corporatization of the cannabis industry but it’s probably the future any way you slice it. And if that’s the case, The Dispensary is a glance into tomorrow, today.
It’s super smooth, the interior kitted out as you’d expect from any retail unit in the slick One Nimman shopping mall.

While we prefer a more “local” feel to our dispensaries, the product is decent quality, the staff is super knowledgeable and they offer grinding, rolling, etc. as part of the after-purchase experience.
There’s a lot to choose from inside and there’s a good split between focusing on THC and CBD too. If the next generation of the Thai cannabis boom must be corporate, this is as good a way to go as any.
Sawan Pot

Opening Hours: 10 AM to 12:30 AM (Seven days a week but holiday opening hours may vary and sometimes closed on Mondays)
Address: 9 Nimmanahaeminda Road, Suthep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50230, Thailand
Call: +66 90 893 3130
Business Type: In Store Service, Curbside Pick Up and Delivery (Delivery hours are the same as the opening hours).

Sawan Pot is a big deal on the local scene, and it is often the first place off people’s tongues when you ask them which dispensaries they would recommend in Nimman.
As the Chiang Mai cannabis café thing is still evolving, this shop also serves beer which can be quite pleasant if you like some alcohol with your weed.
We would note that the prices here are a little more reasonable than in some other stores in the area and it’s still a stylish and cool place to hang out. The tunes are pretty cool too.
It’s also a female-run business if you’d prefer to support women in the cannabis trade. Buy weed from women!
Weeds Bloom CNX

Opening Hours: 5PM – 12 AM (Closed Thursdays)
Address: Nimmana Haeminda Rd Lane 7, Tambon Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand
Call: +66 93 140 4931
Business Type: In Store Service, Curbside Pick Up and Delivery

This is a mobile store which operates out of the side of a van and thus, may move around a little when you go looking for it though they tend not to stray if they can help it as there’s a smoking room in the building behind it. If you’re lost – call them and they can offer some directions.
If you’re seeking a weed bargain, then you can definitely do worse than WeeDs which offers lower prices than the dispensaries in permanent places and the quality is just fine too.
Just remember they’re not open on Thursdays and you can have a great time for less here. But you will need to take your purchases elsewhere as you can’t smoke openly in public in Chiang Mai – it’s still against the law.
Stoner CNX
Opening Hours: 8AM – 10 PM (Seven days a week but holiday opening hours may vary)
Address: 1 2 Nimmana Haeminda Rd Lane 9, Tambon Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand
Business Type: In Store Service Only

This is the Nimmanhaemin branch of the growing local chain Stoner CNX. And it’s got a very authentic Thai feel to it.
The shop offers food, paraphernalia as well as local whiskey and rum in addition to the cannabis, however, it’s worth noting that, apart from the weed, it’s all a bit expensive for Thailand and you might be better off picking up your pot and then moving on elsewhere.
Having said that, they have one of the nicest ranges of lighters that we’ve ever seen, and we couldn’t resist them.
Space Trees

Opening Hours: 12 PM – 10 PM

This is the dispensary closest to home in Nimman and it’s young, hip and cool whilst always welcoming and enjoyable to shop in.
The staff really do know their stuff, and we’ve had long mellow conversations with them about the future of the industry here too.

If you’re buying in larger quantities, they have a bulk discount scheme which makes the prices much more attractive than in many other dispensaries.
The only thing we’d change here is that we’d like to see more edibles on display, but to be fair to them, this is true across most of Chiang Mai’s cannabis dispensaries, it’s early days for the industry here though, we suspect the edibles will come soon.
Cannabee

Opening Hours: 10 AM – 10 PM
Address: 13/3 ซ.13 Suthep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand
Business Type: In Store Service Only
Facebook: Cannabee | Facebook
Map: https://goo.gl/maps/sUcFe4VYCpZasZaa7
This funky, hip-looking cannabis dispensary has one of the cutest names for a dispensary anywhere in Chiang Mai. Sadly, they’ve not capitalized on that by selling merch, yet we’d definitely buy a cool Cannabee t-shirt.
The staff are all well-versed in the joys of Thai cannabisand CBD and they’re happy to talk you through your options.
Prices are fair and the quality is solid too. Cannabee is very much worth exploring if you’re in the area.
The colorful graffiti outside is worth a look too.

OT (Old Town) Dispensary

Opening Hours: 10 AM – 12.30 AM
Address: 29 3 Nimmana Haeminda Rd Lane 7, Tambon Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand
Call: +66 86 327 6184
Business Type: In Store Service, Curbside Pick Up and Delivery (Delivery hours and pickup hours are 9AM – 1AM).
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheOTDispensary
Map: https://goo.gl/maps/fscbwkgTAWZfw5cv9
The OT dispensary feels like a combination of nightclub and dispensary and, indeed, it opens late on Fridays and Saturdays to allow you to enjoy a drink as you smoke your bud.
Sheldon, the bartender, is a top chap and super friendly, he’ll lead you to the perfect alcohol-cannabis mix for you.

Everything is reasonably priced, and the sofas are particularly comfortable. They make a great cup of coffee too!
We suspect that the OT will become a big hit on the Chiang Mai cannabis scene in the long run.
Mrs. Budz – An Early Casualty?
Mrs. Budz is meant to be in Nimman. In fact, it’s meant to be next door to our apartment block. But it’s not there and there’s no trace of it. Is it an early casualty of the cannabis competition here in Chiang Mai or have they moved? We’ll update you when we know.
Final Thoughts On Nimman’s Cannabis Scene
As you might expect, the young, hip, trendy and exotic part of the city has been keen to embrace the opportunities offered by the cannabis trade in Thailand.
There is a wealth of options for you to enjoy in the area and, surprisingly, they’re all good, at least for now.
Why not go out and enjoy all the options while you can? We’ll see you there.
